Getting to and from school or college should be free as OAPs are free and we don’t even get pensions.

That’s true. You don’t.

Exercising your Right not to Exercise

Years 10 and 11 are the two most important years at secondary school. At this age, whilst under taking GCSEs, students have enough to contend with without compulsory PE. Every 14, 15 and 16 year old understands the basic importance of physical excercise and no longer needs to be taught it. The time spent on PE in Years 10 and 11 could be much better utilised to do work that will affect career choices and futures in the world of work.

“Every 14, 15 and 16 year old understands the basic importance of physical excercise [sic]“? Really? Are you sure about that?

All school pupils should be paid an educational allowance to buy educational resources i.e. uniform, pens, books, computer appliances and software etc.

No they shouldn’t. That’s what parents are for, and if they can’t afford to then there are already benefits and schemes set up to help parents in this position. What you want is an increase in pocket money, young Master Kodhai, and to that I say: Sod off. Get a paper route or something.

Tobias Holbrook would like to talk to you logically for a moment.

by Tobias Holbrook

Currently, the voting age is not set on a rational basis. It is set at 18, despite a lack of evidence that 18 is a logical age to set it at. I propose to lower the voting age at a local level as a pilot, to see what effect allowing people as young as 12 to vote and stand for election would have. The results from this can then be used to determine a logical voting age for national elections.

Yes! This is clearly the logical choice! Let’s see what 12year-olds, who have little or no understanding of how the world works, have to say! Or better yet let’s see what the 12 year-olds’ parents have to say as they’ll be the ones telling their kids what to vote for!

But young Master Betts (I shit you not) has another suggestion:

by Master Connor Betts

I am writing this petition for my Citizenship GSCE Coursework. The more signatures, the better. I know there are alot of people who share the same views as I do. In my opinion, If sixteen year olds are allowed to risk their lives for their country, Then why can’t they be given the ability to vote for who they are fighting for? If they can devote their lives to another person (Marriage) and sign a marriage certificate, Then why can’t they sign a less important and more simple document being the ballot paper?

This does present us with a conundrum. Tobias wants to knock the age all the way down to 12. There’s a gap here of four years. What shall we do?

Fortunately, Tobias is willing to compromise:

by Tobias Holbrook

One of the issues our democracy is facing is the voting age. There are many arguments both for and against lowering the voting age, but they tend to miss an obvious compromise – a tiered system, where town parish council elections would have an age limit of 12, district council elections and age limit of 14, county council elections an age limit of 16, and a national age limit of 18.

The advantages would be numerous. It would give people a chance to become more involved in the political process as they grow older, while also serving to gather useful information that would inform further debates on the voting age.

We hope the government considers this idea carefully.

Yes! Such a brilliant idea! And this despite a lack of evidence to support that 12, 14 and 16 are the logical voting ages for these regions.

Let’s ban homework!

by Matthew Lightfoot

There is no child in the country that likes homework. The main reason is that it is a complete waste of time. The whole point of school is to learn. The supposed idea of homework is to ‘reinforce’ what you have already learned, it doesn’t, if anything it makes it even worse because being set extra tasks on a certain topic will make you lose interest. Therefore it will mean you will become bored and you will do worse in the particular topic the homework has been set on. So sign this petition and stop making children do pointless, boring homework.

by Joseph reeves

There work-load is too much at school its self, let alone having to deal with the stress of homework and other out of hours learning, children wish to use their free time for leisure, not for homework, of course studying is mandatory, but homework should be non-existent

Or, let’s find a cunning way of making everyone do homework all the time forever!

by jack wilkinson

give every child uinder the age of 16 a free laptop to use at school and at home for omework so there’s know escape from homework it’s something you have to do.

Because, y’know, kids won’t use the laptops for games or Facebook or anything like that.

i think that schools are making the pupils wear school uniform and in the cold are complaining that the kids are wearing no school uniform items. were as the teachers can wear coats and scafs in school.

Unless school uniform rules have drastically changed in the almost-a-decade it’s been since I finished High School, kids are still allowed to wear coats and scarves.

Also, you’re a ridiculous entity.

The current system for insurance for younger drivers makes the sensible young drivers suffer for the show off young drivers by charging every driver who is under 25 years of age, a very high premium for there insurance.

The system needs to be changed so that good, responsible drivers should be charged less for insurance than bad, irresponsible drivers

One way in which this could be done for young drivers to be offered background checks to help prove that they are responsible. These checks could include school/colleague behavior records, if the driver has a criminal record and if the driver has ever had (or still has) an asbo ect…

If these checks are passed, a discount should be offered to the driver.

Not only will all this stop young drivers being ripped off but it will also make young people think twice about committing anti-social small crimes, showing off in their cars and reducing the amount of uninsured drivers on the roads.

It’s got very little to do with irresponsibility – it’s more to do with the fact that younger drivers are generally inexperienced at driving and so are more likely to get into an accident. Background checks wouldn’t stop this kind of thing from happening.

to be honest i dont think it is fair for people that have families that earn over £30,000 cant recieve ema for there children, if people are paid for going to college i still think everyone should by the goverment

Listen, people: If you’re going to write a petition to the Prime Minister that is in some way connected to the educational system, for the love of God, The Devil, and Bob could you at least get the spelling and grammar right in your ridiculous, overinflated-sense-of-self-entitlement requests? If not for me, then for yourselves?

Bullying has been endemic in British schools since their inception. It is one of the biggest causes of social disharmony and under achievement. It is time the government did its job and put a stop to it. No more ineffectual ‘we are doing this’, ‘we are doing that’. We wish for a complete and instant solution without delay. If the government is not up to protecting its own nations children now, it genuinely is not fit for purpose by any definition. We demand an end to this intollerable situation without delay. This is one of the most important issues affecting this nations future. We beseech the government to put all necessary resources into finding a solution right away.

Hmmm… how do you stop kids being kids? Well the only “instant solution” I can think of involves mass culling, but I don’t think the British public will get behind that as a solution.

Sign this petition to ban homework in school. Homework should be banned because work is for at school and after school they should be spending time on doing other things. Teachers don’t like taking it home to mark either.
