This is quite possibly the greatest misunderstanding of how MPs are paid I’ve ever seen in my life:
by Mr Robert PhilpMP’s to have a wage just like everyone else. No second home and all expenses to be audited by independent auditors and a committee made up of members of the public

by Simon HaighIceland must repay the £2.3bn owed to British taxpayers which was loaned to the country by HMG following the failure of its banking system. Until the loan is repaid, the UK and Dutch governments must veto Iceland’s application to join the EU.
If every country with debts owed to another wasn’t allowed to get involved then the EU wouldn’t get anything done.
…Oh.

by Trevor Kenneth Croucher of NoneAirline fuel use and therefore costs are largely determined by weight. Charging passengers by total weight is an obvious extension of what already applies to freight and would remove unfair anomalies. It would also be a big step in making passengers aware of and pay for their carbon use directly.
Hmm, where have I read this before? Oh yes:

I’m sharing this one for a number of reasons, which will hopefully become painfully apparent once you’ve read it.
by Jacki GoodallI am petitioning on behalf of that poor woman who had her children removed right down to her newborn. What a lot of heartless scum social services are. They need to look after children that are really suffering the way little baby P did. what is the issue with the social services their brains in their arses? What’s wrong? The poor fat lady too happy for them? Will they now remove every kid who happens to be fat, whether the family is happy loved and cared for? All overweight parents in the UK are now going to panic and go on drastic crash diets. in case the same fate happens to them. There are cases of parents who really harm and neglect their kids that are swept under the carpet. like baby Peter and then we will get “Oh dear we’re sorry it wont happen again” Bullshit it will, They allow abused kids to go back 4 more abuse then slam a poor family who happens to be fat what next? Give the lady her babies back. What social services have done is dam cruel. I would like people to sign this petition for parliament, and hopefully force the people who call themselves God to give the poor lady a break and give her children back. I am totally disgusted! Great Britain? There is no Great Britain or a United Kingdom.
Let’s just analyse it for a minute…
Frankly, I am surprised this petition got approved. I’ve seen far less insane rants get rejected, and this one even includes abusive language which is usually an automatic rejection. What’s going on, Number 10?

Spot the glaringly obvious question begging:
As parents we have the right to choose what medical care we would like to give to our children. For numerous reasons some of us choose to innoculate our children using the seperate mumps, measles and rubella injections. For which we have no choice but to pay privately for but we do so for the sake of our children. The only licenced company in Britain to produce the mumps vaccine is a USA company called Mereck. They have ceased producing the vaccine. Other companies in Europe produce the mumps vaccine but it is not approved in Britain. Without this authorised mumps vaccine being put back into production parents are left with very little choice, either go into Europe and get their child vaccinated against mumps but it is not approved in the UK, do not get their child vaccinated and a mumps epidemic will begin or take the MMR. Since we as parents do not want to take the MMR as that is the reason why we are persuing single vaccines we will be endangering the lives of our children and others by not vaccinating or getting an unlicenced vaccine out side the UK. Mereck is the only safe company and our only option we need mumps back in production immediately.
Or, you could just have the fucking jabs and stop whining about a bunch of made-up tabloid shit. You get free healthcare, and you’re sat there moaning ‘oh, but I want that one’ because a newspaper that doesn’t distinguish between news and gossip thinks you’ll buy more copies if you’re afraid of things. It’s pathetic. Grow up and read a damn book.
It is a well-known fact that once the Government have made something, they invariably send round men to inject it into your babies:
Vaccination should be a choice that each individual makes for himself. Some people react adversely to these vaccinations and end up getting ill with the disease that the vaccination was supposed to prevent. It would be a human rights violation to force these upon everyone.
Some researchers argue that there are risks associated flu vaccines. Most vaccines are preserved not only with mercury but also with aluminium – heavy metals that scientists claim are harmful to nerves, glands, and brains – long-term.
Vaccine critics argue that it is contradictory to state that Swine Flu is new, quite unlike any flu virus seen before, while at the same time promoting millions of vaccine vials that were possibly manufactured months or years prior to any given outbreak. If a new strand of virus is "new and different” then older vaccines will probably be useless. Numerous Internet articles expose the debate about vaccine effectiveness as is shown when searching for terms such as “vaccine risks.”
At time of writing this has been signed by the creator, Duncan Maltman, and someone called “D. Maltman Senior”. All I’m saying is, Maltman is not what you’d call a very, very common name. If this petition is anything to go by, this may be the result of natural selection.
I say this not least because the petition is calling to halt production of a vaccine Maltman claims was manufactured months or years before the outbreak of Swine Flu. It is unclear how he believes this will be accomplished.

It seems self evident that all MPs who misappropriation funds from the public or in some other way commit serious misconduct in a public office ought to forfeit their lives. After all, as representatives of the state, they ultimately hold powers of life and death over the people; thus this ought to be balanced through reciprocation of said powers in permitting the people to put any corrupt Members of Parliament to death.
I don’t think ‘self evident’ means what David Jordan of David Jordan thinks it means.
Just as many benefits are theoretically available to the general public but are given only to those judged to "need" them, so should money from the public purse only be given to members of parliament who actually need it. Independant body establishes criteria for means test and investigates data submitted by claimants. Any cheating equals "benefit fraud".
THIS MAKES PERFECT SENSE.
This will ensure that the current process of change is managed by a person of the highest integrity and moral determination. Ann is an MP in whom the British public will place trust and confidence. She will ensure that the moral and ethical standards needed are contained within new regulations for managing and monitoring MP’s.
Yes, she has so much integrity that she would never campaign for The Master or a brand of pasta.
Unless she’s a moron. Yes, I think that might be it.

Dental treatment is Primary Health Care not a luxury. When I was a child, free dental care was available to all irrespective of financial status. Nowadays, for reasons that escape me, it is often private with NHS treatment difficult to obtain. This means that millions of UK citizens are not receiving any form of dental care. This is totally unacceptable.
A little research reveals that most NHS dental practices defected and became private because the financial return on working for the state was either ridiculously low or non-existent. Dental care is private because it’s the only way dentists are able to make a living wage and keep their practices open. I’d rather pay to have good teeth than have no teeth at all.

Dear Prime Minister,
We the undersigned haven’t heard about the European Union’s ruling that the UK should rid itself of its DNA database. This is because our primary source of information is probably the Daily Mail, or possibly the Sun.
It has been stated by ACPO that innocent people have nothing to fear from their DNA being retained even after acquittal. Since police officers must necessarily visit the scenes of crimes, it is reasonable that their DNA be added to the national DNA database and retained for 12 years after leaving the force (or indefinitely in the case of dismissal or resignation while under investigation for misconduct).
Any police officer not enrolled on the DNA database should be prevented from taking a DNA sample from a suspect, or accessing the database in the course of an investigation. This would be a reasonable safeguard against the use of a system by a police officer who clearly has no confidence in it.

Almost two years after Madeleine McCann vanished, there has been no trace of her and no-one has yet been brought to justice, even though it is certain that at least one very serious criminal offence has been committed. We ask the Prime Minister to order a review into the role played by British police in this investigation, with a view to establishing the best way to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion.
There are plenty of unsolved cases. Sometimes there just aren’t enough leads, isn’t enough evidence, and that’s it. The case sits dormant because there’s nowhere else to take the investigation. And, unfortunate as it may seem, the Madeleine McCann case is an example of this. Accept it and move on – the rest of the country has already forgotten how to spell her first name.
We the people of Great Britain, ask the Prime Minister Gordon Brown, to pass an Act of Parliament which makes the playing of music, or of other audio, from the loudspeaker(s) of mobile phones, or other audio devices on Public Transport to be a criminal offence.
What, so even people listening to their MP3 players at a respectable voulume get in trouble? Wow, what a dick.
