I’m not even going to bother with a commentary to this petition – the two “signees” have provided it for us.

currently the queen recives £36,7000,000 a year tax. this is not nearly enough to maintain all of her estates. A quote from an internet page says “Calling Queen Elizabeth II as the richest royal across the globe is a passé. The list is updated by Forbes. To your much astonishment, Queen is worth $600 million that clearly puts her on eleventh position in the list of top-15 monarchs identified.” yet she is the monarch of the most people! i would petition to raise the tax from 61 pence per person to £20 per person giving her a well overdue wage increase from £36,700,000 pounds a year to £1,219,500,000 (1.2bn a year)putting her back on track to true greatness. all the top ten richest monachs have more than 1bn pounds reserve so why shouldn’t our great queen?

you have allowed a petition on the same topic as this I just give figures why is this not approprate? isnt it the executives job too increase or decrease her majesty’s finance?

Happy 65th Birthday! You Are No Longer Capable Of Looking After Yourself!

Most people over the age of 60 or with medical conditions would like to travel – unfortunately it has become an astronomical cost to get insured to travel abroad. Most people who are on medication are probably better off health-wise than those that are not as their health is being monitored.

As an example someone I know wanted to travel to Canada for 3 weeks they were asked a lot of questions and were then told that they could not be insured for the current illnesses that they have already (hence you will have to pay for it yourself anyway if you get ill) and that the cost would be £1,000 plus.

We need to have a fairer system. You pay for travel insurance most of your life and then when you get to the age where you might need it you cannot have it. Surely the government can make arrangements with other countries, especially Canada and Europe where the health care is available for British Citizens whilst on holiday as long as they don’t do crazy things. .

At the moment, if anyone wants insurance they’ll be hit with “astronomical” costs if they have a pre-existing condition. What you’re saying here is that Old People should be treated differently just because they are Old People. Which is… hang on, isn’t this positive discrimination again?

Can we please have free mobile phones and a class in learning to use them for pensioners please. We hear time and time again of pensioners being stuck and alone in situations that they cannot get out of and some of these situations are life threatening.

Or, they could just buy a nice, simply Alcatel phone or something for a tenner from Asda.

Every year, caravans cause hundreds of accidents, hundreds of hours of delays, and frustrate millions of motorists on our road network. They are an eyesore when in transit and when not in use. When they reach the end of their lives, they are an unlicensed, uncontrolled environmental nightmare. By signing this petition, you are saying that you think a caravan- free UK would be a better place.

In all honesty, I think Gregory just got back from a camping trip with his girlfriend that he didn’t like. No doubt he had a teeny, tiny little tent while his girlfriend’s parents stayed in their luxury caravan. Harbouring an intense jealously and hatred, he lashes out the only way he knows how – by complaining to the Prime Minister.

    Also, “CARABAN”? Really?

How can we the British people be sure that the new rate of V A T will be passed onto the public.Maybe the V A T should have been scrapped on Gas and Electricity then we could see in black and white ZERO V.A.T

Yes, let’s show people that VAT has been reduced by not charging VAT on something. Wait, no, that doesn’t make any sense. Besides, for all the moaning the British public does about power companies, isn’t someone worried that they’d just hike up the price again to take advantage?

I’m not keen on the idea of having the Olympics in London, mostly because of how pricey it’s all going to be at the end, however there have been Olympics held during financial recession before. In fact the only time the Olympics were cancelled were during World War II.

    Nyerr.

Has it occurred to anyone that if we can vote for trivia like celebrity come dancing, that we can also vote potentially on social and polical issues, that are really important to we the people. We now have the technology in its various forms to re engage the voting population, perhaps deferring to them instead of The House of Lords. Let the issues decide, not the party politics, and stop this nonsence. Then we can have a fully engaged savi political population, instead of the apathy and disenfranchisement that we have now. Remember where theres a will, and to ignore is at your long term peril. Politics is not just for the party political few, but for us all, we now have the technolgy to engage all the voting public, take the opportunity, put it to the vote, if you dare. Yours, Joe Roberts, swing voter, ie the ones that make a difference, never to be institutionalised.

Because there’s absolutely no way to rig phone voting, right?
