Ticket prices for football matches have now risen to the extent that many average football fans have been priced out. To now deny these fans the opportunity to watch their national team play is unbelievable. Putting the national game on channels such as setanta, where an expensive suscription is needed further pushes football into the realm of those with sufficient funds. But this goes beyond the realm of simply money. Football and sport has been a great part of British culture and patriotism for generations and denying the vast majority of the British public the opportunity to watch the national game in simply immoral.

February 4th 2009 was a date where ITV made a terrible error with the 4th FA Cup replay – Everton v Liverpool. As extra time was played, ITV showed some adverts instead of the final few minutes of extra time. During the advert break, Everton scored the winning goal. Thus ruining the game.

When ITV had rights to show F1 races, it showed adverts right in the middle of a major point in the race. People have complained about ITV’s coverage due to the advert breaks. Now its back at the BBC, many fans are pleased as races aren’t interrupted by annoying adverts.

I think if ITV wants to show live sports, then it should not broadcast ANY advert breaks, unless it’s during a period of no sport is being played. For example during half time and before the race or match starts.

If ITV cannot hold such a promise, then it should never have rights to live sports coverage.

This will only affect about 2 hours per week overall during the year. This is nothing compared to the few seconds that could turn a match or race around

Great Britain is in a unique position to stimulate the economy of our country at the stroke of a pen.
As we are not into the euro,we can quite easily restore the true value of the good old British Pound to 240 old pence.This would be a step forward rather than back and would help every body,especially those in dire financial straits.We should cap all prices at their present level and impose strict price control.It would encourage a lot more companies to become more competitive.Those who can remember the switch over from 240 old pence to 100 new pence will have bitter memories how we were tricked into a devaluation of a massive 140% overnight and the unscrupulous traders who went laughing all the way to their banks.Thank you.

There has been more than one public "consultation" recently, where the clearly expressed views of the majority of respondants have been blatently ignored by the officials/public servants involved. The most recent case being a 72% majority who came out against having flouride added to their water supply in Southampton and the surrounding area, being overruled by 12 unelected members of the local health authority, in direct contradiction of the democratic process. This latest decision has resulted in the both the "consultation" process and the local health authority involved being brought in to severe disrepute and needs to be urgently addressed by the Prime Minister if the electorate are to have any faith in future consultations being genuine.

The tradition of public houses in England dates back centuries. They play a vital role in social cohesion and the relaxation and de-stressing of the majority of people. Health studies show that a Type A personality, an inability to release stress, is a greater predictor of cancer than smoking. If the unintended consequence of the smoking ban is the loss of this vital safety valve the overall health of the nation may suffer.
It is a simple matter of legislation to achieve the benefits of non smoking and the benefits of the public house by offering a choice, a basic human right, to be staffed and frequented by those who choose to be there.
The Department of health’s figures on which the government supports its legislation are highly misleading. They focus on the benefits of compliance and disregard the psychological and social health benefits of the public house.

- 98% compliance only means we abide by the law.
- 76% of people in support (and even 55% of
smokers in support); This suggests 55% of smokers support the law while only 21% (76% – 55%) of non smokers do; a highly dubious finding.
- 87 % of businesses said …. only means the public abide by the law.

In view of the government’s recent re direction of tax payers money
I would like part of my tax payers money to ensure that National team sport can be seen on terrestrial TV.
British sport should be viewable to all in Britain. Our children deserve it.

We the undersigned demand the right to test each Taser on each individual police officer and the Home Secretary before each weapon is released to a FULLY TRAINED officer. We further demand that all officers to whom these weapons are released are fully trained to handle these firearms in order to avoid the abuses we have already seen both in this country and others where they are used. This is in order to reduce the demand for release of these weapons to under-trained and untrustworthy police officers by a Home Secretary who is never likely to be on the receiving end of one unlike perfectly law abiding members of the public who are constantly at threat from under-trained, lazy, or generally uncaring and incompetent police officers. This is not to defame all police officers, but power leads to abuse – it is a fact, and the public need protecting.

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to do everything in his power to exercise justice for responsible pensioners who verifiably paid their statutory dues during the working life through income tax, national insurance contributions, SERPS or private pension, but who are currently denied access to council tax relief, rent allowance and cold weather payments.

This petition recognises that the government exercises a threshold for access to social security benefits but urges the Prime Minister to review the existing ceiling in respect of responsible pensioners in the light of the spiralling cost of living and the hardship it is inflicting on these marginalised senior citizens who, having made voluntary provision for retirement, are now increasingly obliged to resort to using meagre savings to meet their statutory obligations.

This petition further urges the Prime Minister to consider exempting marginalised pensioners in their seventies, eighties and beyond from paying council tax.

We seriously believe that the public’s perception of bendy buses could be changed to a more positive one if the buses were to make accordian noises as they cornered. They would make cities a more cheerful place to live and work and attract tourists in their thousands.

In the wake of a high profile murder trial and the admission of a murderer to a murder in England. Certain newspapers have choosen to report and display pictures of the victims next to or opposite photographs of models designed to be sexually provocative.

One tabloid newspaper even advertised on the same page as the model that the murderer had committed 106 sex crimes.

We ask the prime minister to change the way the law is written for household pets. Outdoor pets that are attacked by dogs do not have the same rights as livestock. Dog Owners can get away with having dangerous dogs attacking pets in people’s own back gardens because these animals under the current law means nothing. The Dog Owner would only face charges if the dog attacked a person. This is unfair and the dogs that attack these helpless creatures in their cages or in their runs get returned to their owners for their owners to allow them back out coursing devestation once again. More funds should be pushed towards child protection in the United Kingdom. Specifically, we feel there should be measures such as:

•Regular FULL health check-ups on children up until an agreed age.

•If there’s any speculation of child abuse (an incident which seems not an accident) then the child should be put into temporary foster until there’s evidence for the future decision of the child’s welfare.

•More money should be invested into benefits for those willing to adopt/foster in order to encourage those who are unsure about the costs of adopting a family of siblings, single child or one with disabilities.

•Better communication between agencies. Social services, the council, the police etc… should have STRONG communication in every case.

•More training of social workers- they should be there for the CHILDREN over the parents so they should be more ruthless towards any suspect injuries or short-comings of the mother/father. They should get more on-site training before becoming a social worker.

•A new system to take place of the "At Risk" register- obviously there are some serious flaws in it and it needs to be more fit for purpose

When the Parent With Care (PWC)is in receipt of Income Support, the amount they receive is reduced by the amount paid by the Non-Resident Parent (NRP) to the CSA. In effect it is considered to be income for the PWC rather than child maintenance. So the children never see it and the PWC, NRP and their children live in perpetual poverty. The child maintenance should be spent on the kids and not treated as income.

all students from all schools go into there community once a week with teachers and police representatives to clean off graffitti pick up litter, paint, mend fences e.t.c this will encourage them to take a pride in and look after their own enviroment.

As football is our national sport; and plays a significant role in English culture. I believe that it should be our right to watch our national games free of charge on Terrestrial Television. I think that it is ridiculous that some families are unable to watch our football idols of England play the famous sport just because it is not on Terrestrial Television. Doing this would benefit our whole nation by bringing it together through our heroes who are from all over England.

The passion of England football fans is world famous. They sing their country’s National Anthem like no other fans. They devote huge amounts of effort and money to follow the England team around the world.

We urge the Prime Minister to persuade the FA to hold an England charity football match on St. George’s Day – England’s National Day.

I have recently been disgusted with the number of crimes against children and our vulnerable members of society, which are hitting our headlines at the moment, and the seemingly soft sentences dished out to the sadists and peadophiles who commit these crimes. I had a serious cancerous condition on my vocal chords caused by smoking, I had to stop smoking but I didn’t want to as I enjoyed it. My doctor warned me that if i continued smoking I would have ended up having my vocal chords removed, most likely within a year. I stoped smoking succesfully but every time I see someone smoking on the television, it makes me want to smoke again. I am scared that I will loose my will power and eventually give in to this. For the health of myself and other people could you please try to put an end to showing smoking on the television.

The TV licence players deserve more, ALL BBC dvd’s should be available for £1.99 or max £2.99 to licence fee payers. Start this before Christmas and it could kick start the economy with DVD sales and make a happy Christmas for all. Due to the current ecomonic down turn does the prime minister not think it would make sense to give the hard working people of this country an income tax holiday. This would be an easy way to prevent Christmas from being a disaster for the high street.

As a pupil, I am simply appalled that instead of actually learning English grammar at GCSE level (with Edexcel at least) we are only required to analyse stories and poetry; write to describe, review and argue; and write about non-fiction texts.
I do not disagree with these current aspects of the syllabus, but I ask that the examination syllabi be more thorough in their examining.
A separate section which tests basic understanding of correct grammar and spelling would be a fantastic way to help stimulate our amazing language. I cannot see how some persons manage to cope with the detailed essay writing required without having a section on grammar.
I know it may seen very pedantic, but it simply infuriates me when people do not use the subjunctive mood correctly, or punctuate in the wrong places.
It is all right when people do these things accidentally, but I know for a fact that young persons nowadays are simply ignorant of correct grammar because it is simply not taught fully.
I hereby suggest that the Government ask the examination boards to make sure that they include a comprehensive grammar section which includes all the nuances of our mother tongue.

The more money bosses can save by scrapping overtime, xmas bonuses and other rewards to staff are then given to these bosses at the companies and employees expense. Bosses should not be allowed to gain personally by taking away from his or hers employees. Also to stop companies being allowed to change an employees contract by just giving the appropriate notice.

Many families are made up with children, each with a different father. Fathers of those children must be identified because unless identified their child’s support is covered by our social system and the fathers are free to father other children causing further cost to the tax payer in general.

Our aim is to preserve the innocence of children.
This means that all sex and intimate relationship education is the responsibility of parents and not schools. Sex education stimulates curiosity and destroys innocence, and can lead to experimentations. It is not a satisfactory option to allow individual children to be withdrawn from the lessons because these topics become a seemingly acceptable conversation for the playground to which all children are exposed.

Too many people are in debt at the moment, and with the ever increasing cost of living, personal debts are spiralling out of control.

I am calling for an amnesty on debt, whereby 50% of all personal debt is written off for people willing to make regular and timely payments on the remainder of the total balance.

Need I say more, it’s obvious that if VAT is cut this will affect everybody, cutting the interest rate only affects people with a mortgage. For everyday people trying to afford groceries etc, this is a must. Money needs to be saved for everyone 17.5% is a joke!! Look at the other countries!!!

In recent weeks it has emerged that media coverage of a story resulted in many people making complaints about a radio show that the vast majority hadn’t even tuned in to. As a result the programme in question was axed. As the story unfolded it would seem that with the media manipulation it was taken out of all perspective. Now, those listeners who tuned in every week were denied their choice of how TV licence money was spent. A support group was set up on a social networking site to match the number of complaints, which it did and more. But,the authorities have chosen not to recognise this public opinion and have dismissed the group as misguided youths. I would like to see more respect for the online community and the numbers of people who set up support groups, these numbers should be taken into consideration for reporting procedures.

The people are fed up with the attitude of the banks, we have helped them through a tough time and have had NO! reward in return, on our loans or mortgages. We want the desission reversed give us our money back or give the people the interest the banks are earning on what they have been given from us.

Many of these brave young men gave their lives during WW11 and deserve to be honoured for it.

that all sporting events, football, rugby, cricket etc held at international level is made free to all.That means forcing Sky or Setanta to use an unscrambled signal on a channel everyone can have free access to.

With declining standards in TV/radio, channels are now airing explicitly sexual shows of a pornographic nature. Virgin 1’s ‘Sexcetera’/ Channel 4’s ‘Sex Education Show’ are examples, whilst so-called comedy like ‘Little Britain’ & similar are filled with crude, smutty innuendo. Media glorifies violence/immorality as ‘cool’ & to be aspired to, influencing young minds & doing nothing to discourage today’s gang culture. We don’t want these shows even AFTER the watershed. We’re told if we don’t like it, then switch off! This allows standards to further degrade. We demand a return to decency/morality by broadcasters. The supposed defence that censorship is ALWAYS wrong, doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Society censors behaviour all the time. If not, why have laws, as all behaviour, even murder, would be OK! The constant drip of immoral/indecent viewing/listening material, can & does lower society’s standards too. This is not a simplistic conclusion. It’s common sense!

The BBC dont show averts due to us paying a licence fee. ITV show adverts to create revenew. ITV dont get any licence Fee money. BskyB however make you subscribe for channels then hound you with commercials making millions both way its unfair and unjust. BskyB should do one or the other not both.

The only way we can protect our children from abuse and incense, is to for social service to monitor every child from birth until the age of sixteen. The social worker could be responsible for a maximum of six children and provide detailed reports on each child. In the long term this would save social services and the tax payer time and money.

The campaign to move Christmas, is our way of beating the so called Credit Crunch. Moving Christmas to the 29th February should give people longer to recover from the massive financial burden inflicted on them by this annual event.
