I don't quite understand what you mean by this. I mean, I asked my mother if there were any Nigel Paddons in the family. Insofar as familial investigations go I think that's a pretty good start. How exactly am I "clogging up google searches", anyway? Even if I didn't mention the possible genetic connection between you and me (and, frankly, I'm thankful that there isn't one) a Google search for "Nigel Paddon" would still throw up this website as a possible result because we've written your name down on our website.

I suppose we must have missed that one. You’re right, though; I’m sure we’d have mocked the “No Freebies” one instead of the Stonehenge one if we’d seen it because it is far stupider. I mean, you can’t just demand thousands of pounds from someone because something they bought twenty years ago has since become more expensive. Especially someone living in another country. It’s just a lunatic plan.

I am the person who renewed Moira’s petition, but am unsure as to why the name was used in ref to the Zimbabwe petition. There are actually several Paddons around the world, perhaps you should investigate more thoroughly rather than clogging up google searches… There was a Sean Paddon with Sheffield Uni (on Uni Challenge), there is a Vet called Nigel Paddon, a businessman called Nigel Paddon, and I am the trainee Chemist. There are also many Paddons in Australia and Canada – some are related to myself. Moira’s reasons for the petition are uncertain, as I have never had the chance to talk to her, and I’m not convinced that she meant “free” in the financial sense. My reasons were in relation to Handling Stolen Goods – the “Druids” now having access were formed in the 1850s, wereas Stonehenge dates to about 2500bc. I was simply aiming at a level of fairness, where the specifics can be sorted out later, eg rotas for access, etc. (There is a word limit for each of the petitions on the no10 site.) Does that help to resolve your confusion?
