1[ Ensure that all Executives of Banks 'bailed out' with Tax payer's money do not take total remuneration of more than £250,000 per annum as introduced in the USA. 2]Ensure that such Banks are encouraged to make loans more readily available to stimulate the economy.
How exactly is “letting people borrow money more readily at a time when the economy is bad so they may not be able to pay it back” going to stimulate the economy in any way other than negatively?
The only BECTA recommended operating system for schools is Microsoft Windows, but there are several reasons why this is not the best choice for use in an educational environment. Firstly, the vast majority of malware in existence is for Windows. Secondly, the cost of a Windows computer may prevent some learners from having one at home which is compatible with the ones used at school. Thirdly, Windows restricts the user’s choice of such settings as languages and character support based on edition bought. Finally, Windows is not designed for education.
For these reasons, we believe that the primary OS used in schools should be a free and open source alternative. Many operating systems that are more secure than Windows are available, although there is currently only one specifically designed for education. Many of these systems are Linux-based, and so there are alternatives to most Windows software available, and where they are not, it is possible to run windows applications.
…And then the kids come across a Windows-based machine in the real world and have no sodding idea how to use it because they’re all Linux power-users. Bonus: there isn’t any commercially available educational software that’s coded in Linux. Score!
To urge the government to stop the genetic modification of food. This includes seeds, fruit, vegetables. Animals, fish and animal food products. The aim is to stop genetic modification of all food, for ourselves and our future generations.
To what end? For what benefit? If you don’t want to eat GM food just don’t buy it, you gibbon.
It is time to share the pain.
I agree, to whit: I propose we emulate the Government’s experience of having to sift through these bloody petitions by having everyone kick Mark Startin swiftly and keenly in the bollocks. Form an orderly queue, please.
Getting a decent amount of snow fall across the whole of the UK is such a rare event that, when it happens, adults and children everywhere should make the most of it. If everyone spent the day sledging, building snowmen, building igloos and having snow ball fights then no one would have to worry about the cancelled trains, the non-existent bus services and the desperate driving conditions.
That is why a national holiday after 4 inches of snow fall is a good idea. It wouldn’t just reduce accidents and stress but it would probably make us all happier as well!
Because, y’know, the economy can handle people taking more time off from work.
